Emma Roberts (author)
Miss Emma Roberts was a travel writer living from March 27, 1791 till September 17th 1840. After her mother passed, she moved with her newly wedded sister to Bengal, a region in south Asia under control of the East India Company. With her sister's death in 1831 she moved to Calcutta where she continued her work cataloging the daily life of the people of the region, ultimately returning in 1833 when her health began to fail. Shortly thereafter she published this text. in 1939 she decided to return to india where after arriving she took ill and passed. Her remaining works were published posthumously in 1941.
