Conclusion

With these observations we can see how a text can be used as a time capsule to infer on the journey it has had from owner to owner to the collection it currently sits in as well as the world in which it was written. It is particularly common knowledge that the British rule in India through the east India company was not advantageous for the native population of the region. Through the minor inconsistencies and comparisons in the work we can see some of the cracks that the living standards were not great, and the following decades prove this with the Indian revolution two decades later being squashed by the British military and the east India company ruling over the region for a time as the British Raj. Thus, while the text may have not been written in a malicious manner, the state of society at the time subconsciously viewed the native people as lesser and this text can be used to show this.
