The Margravate of Azilia

Explore early views of Georgia and the Americas through the first 400 years of American Cartography. These maps document the emergence and evolution of the American colonies, specifically Georiga, and the formation of the United States as a whole, ranging from the late 1500s to the late 1800s.

This exhibit is arranged into four categories, and begins broadly with Maps of Early Explorers and Colonies and Maps of North America, and then narrows to a closer look at the Southeast and Georgia in particular.
