Description
The air pollution control program in Chicago, Ill., has been called one of the most effective in the nation. Unmanned, automated stations placed atop city buildings beep back air pollution readings to the control headquarters downtown. Here a member of the headquarters staff, Sam Booras, checks a control panel console for the results of readings on air pollution sent in by the remote stations.
